I don't even know where to start on this other than saying that there will be spoilers. This book is definitely a form book. Do an outline, and then plug in the filler. The book did not flow at all, instead of using 'didn't' or some other conjugations the author spelled it out as in Annie did not know, and she used that a LOT in the descriptions of the other characters as well. The author tried to make Annie appear as if she were a strong stand up to the man type of character but she just came across as rude and juvenile to me. Her father is an autocratic, authoritative jack-n-apes with no soul what so ever who tries to force her to marry someone she has dated for 3 months. HUH? Anyone who gets engaged after 3 months of dating is an idiot. She is supposed to be 29 yrs old in this book, she is heir to a billion $ company but has no college so that she has no other out than to depend on her father for money, but wait, her father, the autocratic jack-n-apes doesn't consider her an heir bc she is....wait for it....A WOMAN. So, she, with only a finishing school and no college thinks she can run a billion dollar industry bc she worked there for 5 summers? Seriously?There was little to no sex in this book (which was fine bc I don't think the author could write a decent one). The only good thing about this book was the fact that her father died in the end. But, the whole scene where Weldon or Feldon or Eldon whatever his name was thinks he could kidnap her and force her into marriage? Maybe in the victorian age where women had few to no rights but sorry honey, that is a FEDERAL OFFENSE and is punishable by 10 to 20 if it is your first offense. Not to mention that it sets it up for an annulment bc you can't force someone to marry you and sorry again but no real preacher is going to perform the ceremony for MONEY. That would be considered a sin for sure. I had to force myself to finish this book and I did finish it so that I could feel ok about writing a review. This book was just so unbelievable and yes I know I am reading fiction but it should still be plausible and this is so far from that. I truly do not understand the 5 star ratings at all on this book.
